  • He was a prominent figure in the Upper Hunter in the 1840s and is frequently mentioned in newspaper reports as a speaker at meetings and on special occasions
  • He was involved in the establishment of the Singleton Benevolent Society and the Patrick's Plains and Upper Hunter Agricultural Association
  • He took his own life while in "embarrassed circumstances". On the following day, a young lady named Kesterton also comitted suicide (SMH)
